Good Works Indiana Staff Spotlight: DeAnna Hoskins the Second Half of the Dynamic Duo!

Affectionately called "the other twin" DeAnna Hoskins is originally from Cincinnati, OH and relocated to Indy about a year ago with her three children and a sheltie name Sampson. She has a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from College of Mount St. Joseph, and currently pursuing Masters of Science in Criminal Justice from University of Cincinnati. She bring s a wealth of practical experience includes which includes among other things; operating a supportive housing program for homeless chemically dependent adults, implementing an ex-offender employment program through Ohio Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and advocate for adolescents suffering with AOD problems. Correctional Case Manager for Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC).

As Provider Services Associate and Correctional Referral Liaison for Access to Recovery, Deanna participates in the recruitment of community-based providers to deliver critical services for participants. She also has the task to work within IDOC as a Correctional Referral Liaison, in that capacity Deanna trains all of IDOC Unit Team staff including Parole, Community Corrections and local correctional facilities on the process of referring to ATR. Of course being for her that's not enough so she also recruits offenders that are either in a Re-entry class, Therapeutic community, PLUS and CLIFF programs.

When I asked her what was her most memorable moment she instantly smiled as she recalled her first presentation to those who were incarcerated. The offenders were so excited that there was a program that would assist them openly with no strings attached. She stated that many had never had any type of program that gave some sort of direction upon release. ATR gave them hope.

DeAnna believes that small grass roots organizations that don’t have the expertise to turn their mission or vision into an operational organization would benefit from the capacity building assistance we offer. She says that in a word OFBCI is "EXCEPTIONAL".

And in a word DeAnna you are too!
